statement of faith
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe the Bible is without error and is the sole and final authority for our faith, providing full and complete encouragement and guidance for life.
We believe in one true God eternally and uniquely existing in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully and equally God. We believe that God the Father is the ultimate in holiness, unchangeable in Spirit, perfect in goodness, measureless in power and infinite in wisdom, justice, and love. Sent by God, we believe that Jesus Christ is Savior. Jesus was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit; born of the Virgin Mary; was like us in all ways except for one, being free from sin; died on the cross as the vicarious, atoning sacrifice for the sins of all men; was buried; rose from the dead; ascended into heaven; and is seated at the right hand of the Father. God showed His love for all people by sending His Son to die for our sins so that we might have everlasting life with God in heaven, which is the gift of God’s grace. This gift is free from God, given to all who believe in His Son Jesus Christ, and accept Him as the Lord of their life. We believe that man was created in the image of God as a direct act of God. Man was created to worship God, serve God, and have fellowship with God through prayer. |
We believe that humankind was given rule over all the earth.
We believe that God has a purpose and plan for our lives and we are encouraged by it. We believe that we have been called by God to glorify Him in all that we do and that we fully belong to Him. We believe that the blessings and gifts we have received should be multiplied and shared for the benefit of others. We believe that Jesus Christ instituted two rites: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe these rites to be a visual demonstration and outward declaration of this faith, and are obliged in obedience to God. We believe that all who repent of their sins and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and form the living body of Christ, the church, of which He is the head and of which we are all members. We believe that Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves, and should open themselves to allow Christ to manifest His life through them to God’s glory. We believe by the power of the Spirit that every believer should strive to live the holiest life. And we believe there will be a second coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ. |
