WHat do we mean when we say...?
Ah-Oooo-Gah – A sound heard from the driver's seat of the motorhome while traveling through a tunnel.
Black Water Tank – Where the smelly, lumpy, used-up water is carried until it is dumped.
Boondocking – Camped in a rural location, off-pavement, without any hookups.
Closet Clearing – An unusually rough pothole or speed-bump that results in everything, all at one time, coming out of the closets and cupboards in the motorhome.
Dry Camping – Camped at a location without any hookups, whether on pavement or off.
Faith – The nickname we have given our Winnebago motorhome.
FHU – Full HookUps (has water, electric, and sewer connections for the RV). Sometimes also includes a cable TV connection.
Full-Timing – When your RV is your primary residence, often 24X7X365.
Glamping – Glamorous camping. A plethora of service and amenities are offered at 'Glamp Grounds'. The primary agenda is the complete comfort and entertainment of the guests. Think, "Marriott-Disney-Campground" all in one!
Grey Water – Used-up, soapy water which drains from sinks and showers. Is held in the Grey Water Tank until dumped.
J-docking – Parked overnight on pavement such as at a Truckstop or casino.
Jeeves – The GPS in the Cherokee.
Michelle – The GPS in the Motorhome.
RV Port Home – A Stick-and-Brick in a neighborhood that allows attached, large RV garages in its covenants.
RV Resorting – Parked/camped at a location with a swimming pool and a Denny's.
55+ RV Resorting – Parked/camped at a location with more than one pool, a Denny's, and a Cracker Barrel. Usually features organized activities (shuffleboard, pickleball, etc.), larger RV spaces, a fitness center, smoothie bar, cable TV, daily newspaper delivered to your space, free shuttles, and [often] a golf course.
SOWERS – One of the ministries with which Deb and I will participate.
Stick-and-Brick – A conventional house in a conventional neighborhood, such as in "Valley Hi Estates."
Stinky Slinky – The 3" flexible hose that is used to dump the grey- and black-water holding tanks.
